Pacers Weekly Update: Pacers Hit The Road For 5 Straight Games

Game 20: Pacers (12-7) at Grizzlies (6-13)

For the second time in seven days the Pacers would meet the Grizzlies. This game would be their last game against each other in the regular season. The Pacers controlled this one, winning every quarter against the shorthanded Grizzlies. Memphis was without their first-round draft pick, Ja Morant. The Pacers finished with seven guys in double figures, led by Malcolm Brogdon who finished the game with 19 points.

FINAL: Pacers: 117 Grizzlies: 104

Game 21: Pacers (13-7) at Thunder (8-11)

The first time these two teams met the Pacers dominated at home in a 111-85 win. This one would be much closer. The Pacers trailed after the 1st quarter but would go on to win the next three quarters. They could never really separate themselves until the very end though. The Pacers would go on to win by a score of 107-100. TJ Warren lead all scorers with 24 points and Domantas Sabonis continued his double-double streak with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Game 22: Pacers (14-7) at Pistons (8-14)

When you play a divisional opponent four times during the season usually those game are spread out, but not this year for the Pacers and Pistons. Just 22 games in for the Pacers and they would be playing the Pistons for the final time this year. The Pistons won 2 of the first 3 games this season. The Pacers got off to an incredibly slow start again, which seems to be the norm for them when playing Detroit this season. The Pacers trailed 19-32 after one. The Pacers would win the next quarter but only cut into the lead by two points and trail 46-55 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter the Pacers would storm back to take the lead, and head into the 4th up 77-73. Indiana was unable to hold on in the 4th giving up 37 points to the Pistons and losing the game by a score of 101-108.

Game 23: Pacers (14-8) at Knicks (4-18)

The Pacers meet the Knicks for the final game of their 5-game road trip. The Pacers controlled the first three quarters and would take an 89-81 lead heading to the 4th. The long road trip may have caught up with the Pacers. They only scored 15 points in the final quarter, making this game close to the very end. With 0.1 seconds left in the game Julius Randle was sent to line with the chance to tie the game and send it into overtime. Randle would miss his second free throw securing the win for the Pacers, 104-103. Indiana was led by TJ Warren once again who finished with 25 points.
