Two top ten teams, ESPN’s College Gameday, five hundred extra seats added to the stadium, need I say more? The list of elements to get fans excited about this game could go on and on. It’s #7 Notre Dame traveling to Athens to take on #3 Georgia in the biggest game of the college football week.

Both teams are currently undefeated and a win over a top ten non-conference opponent would look good on either team’s resume when it comes time to choose the teams for the College Football Playoffs. According to the Allstate Playoff Predictor Notre Dame currently has a 38% chance of making the College Football Playoff, but a win at Georgia sky rockets their chances to 66%.

Both teams are led by veteran quarterbacks. Under center for the Bulldogs is the junior Jake Fromm. Fromm has started 32 games in his career at Georgia and thrown for 59 touchdowns. Fromm is not a threat to scramble out of the pocket but what he does best is take care of the ball. He has yet to throw an interception this year.

Taking the snaps for the Irish will be senior quarterback Ian Book. Book’s career stats aren’t quite as impressive as Fromm’s, but like Fromm, Book is very good at protecting the ball and not throwing interceptions. On 47 attempts this season Book has 6 touchdowns and no interceptions. Book has also added 2 rushing touchdowns to his stat line this season.

It doesn’t get much bigger than this in a week four match-up. The last time these teams played the game was decided by one point with Georgia coming out on top in South Bend. Now two years later the Irish will try to even things up by stealing one on the road in Athens.
