Do I like the idea of Peyton Manning as an ESPN analyst for Monday Night Football? Yes. Yes I do.

But, I might be one of the only people to also really like Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth together. And the rumors are that the network wants a Manning/Michaels pairing. WHAT ABOUT COLLINSWORTH (or Collinsworthless as my fiance calls him)?

ESPN wanted Tony Romo, but he signed a massive contact with CBS last week. So, Peyton Manning is apparently their next choice per the NY Post.

The issue with bringing Al Michaels on board is that he’s still under contract with NBC for two more years. According to Front Office Sports, ESPN is ready to make Peyton an offer of $18-20 million per year. While I think he’d be awesome at the gig, I’d still like to see Tony with the largest contract because he’s a freaking genius analyst and deserves that title for at least a year.

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. If not Manning, they are also looking at Phillip Rivers.
