This is the team we expected to see in week 1. The Colts dominated on both sides of the ball. The offensive and defensive lines controlled the game, each team only had the ball once throughout the entire first quarter. Jonathan Taylor showed why he was worthy of being a high second round draft pick. He looked great as he replaced Marlon Mack in the starting lineup. Taylor becomes the first rookie running back since Vick Ballard in 2015 to rush for more than 100 yards.

Injuries piled up for the Colts’ offense. They were without Marlon Mack, Jack Doyle, Trey Burton and Parris Campbell left the game early with a knee injury. Taylor wasn’t the only one to step up for the Colts. Mo Allie-Cox finished the game as the leading receiver with 5 catches for 111 yards. He bounced back nicely after dropping a pass that turned into an interception.

The defense was the real star of the show in this one. Minnesota scored 3 points on their first possession, but after that it was all Colts. They intercepted Kirk Cousins 3 times and also sacked him once in the end zone for a safety. The Vikings wouldn’t have scored a touchdown all game had it not been for a Dalvin Cook score late in garbage time.

The Colts improve to 1-1 with a 28-11 win. Their next game is back at Lucas Oil Stadium against the 0-2 Jets.
