Entering the game both the Colts and the Ravens were 5-2 and the Colts were tied with the Titans for the division lead in the AFC South. Clearly this would be a big game for the Colts as they try to stay on top of the division, but it was also the first true test for this year’s team.
The Colts came out of the gates strong. They scored first and lead 7-0. Another promising drive came to an abrupt end when Jonathan Taylor fumbled and the Ravens recovered it and returned it for a touchdown, tying the game. The Colts would add a field goal before the end of the half and go into the break leading 10-7.
The former MVP took over in the second half. Lamar Jackson struggled in the first half but showed why he won the award in the second. The Ravens slowly moved the ball down the field and the Colts had no answer. Baltimore dominated the 3rd quarter, outgaining the Colts 144 yards to 1.
The Ravens go on to win the game 24-10. The Colts falls to 5-3 on the season and now sit a game behind the Tennessee Titans for the top spot in the AFC South. The good news for the Colts is they play the Titans twice over the next two weeks.
